Description

The Jewish Outdoors Club (and the Krausz family) invite you to an easy hike up Governor Mt in Ringwood State Park on Sunday, June 10. Yay!

When I say the hike is easy, I mean it. It is 2.3 miles long with an elevation gain of only 200 feet - more than a walk in the park, but you wont be too sore on Monday. The hike packs in some real nice views of Wanaque Reservoir from "Suicide Ledge", cool glacial erratics (i.e, huge boulders), and real pretty Hemlock stands in just a short romp.

The hike is perfect for someone looking for a casual, social getaway in the great outdoors for half a day.

To keep it somewhat intimate, I am capping the hike at 12 men and 12 women.

Here is some more info in Q and A:

WHERE IS THE HIKE LOCATED?
Were heading to Ringwood, NJ which is a State Park about 45 minutes from the GW Bridge. Exact directions will be forthcoming to participants.

WHAT TIME IS THE HIKE?
The hike will depart from the trailhead at 10:15 in the morning. We should be done by 1:00, which includes a lunch stop en route.

HOW WILL I GET THERE?
I will be putting together a spreadsheet of drivers and sending it to participants about a week before the event. You will then arrange a ride.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Bring 2 liters of water, camera, sunscreen, bug spray, lunch. A hat is a
good idea since not all of the hike is in the shade.
Do not bring high heeled anything- even if you are short :)

WHAT DOES IT COST?
The hike costs $2, plus transportation costs which gets paid directly to drivers.

HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Send me an email with the following info:
A) Your full name
B) Your phone number
C) Your Email address
D) Do you have a car? If so, where would you be leaving from, and could you stop by the Upper West Side if needed?
E) What is your atm card pin?

Kidding on the last one :)

NOTE: You do not need to pay in advance, BUT, not showing up really sucks for those who get closed out. So go to sleep early the night before, set your alarm, and do show up if you register. thx!

WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Heavy rains/lightning cancel, well go in light rain. Please check emails last minute if in doubt.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THERE TO DO?
For those who are interested, Ringwood Manor and Skyland Manor are two neat places less than a mile from where we are hiking. There are beautiful gardens there as well as organized tours. Ringwood is also a mecca for mt biking, so bring your bikes if you are so inclined.

ARE THE KRAUSZ KIDS COMING?
All three of em! Wish us luck :)

Hope youll join us and do help spread the word!
