Dear fellow horseback riders,

Its that time ofyearagain...Marathon Sunday! And in response to the exciting prospectoftraffic jams all over the city, I propose travel by HORSE Power.Youcan even participate in a JOC triathalon! (well, sort of...)

First Event: ROLL out of bed to our meeting point at 10:00 AM Sunday morning.

NextEvent:RIDE a spirited horse for 1 hour with 6-8 fellow JOCers throughthebeautiful foliage of Forest Park, Queens. For more info,checkoutwww.forestequinecenter.com.

And finally: Hurry back to CHEER for members of our JOC family as they cross the finish line.

WHEN? ThisSunday, November 4. Our 1 hour ride begins at 11:00 AM. We willmeet inManhattan at 10:00 to travel together to the stable.

MUST I BE AN EXPERIENCED RIDER? Nope.  All are welcome, as long as you don’t mind the smell of horse.

WILLITBEA BORING TRAIL RIDE? That depends on your definition ofboring. Every trail ride does depend on the wranglers’ comfortthat all riderscan hold on safely, and that can vary based onexperience and expertiseof the participants of a particular ride.However, I received glowingfeedback all around after the last 5 ridesat this stable… from ridersat all levels.  I dont think youllbe disappointed!

HOW MUCH:
$45if confirmed before Thursday,November 1, $50 thereafter. NOTE: Becauseof a good relationship we aredeveloping with the stable, I am pleasedto offer you this ride AT COST(tip and paypal fees included)! You won’tget a much better deal in thecity for this kind of ride.

CLOTHING:Bepreparedfor colder weather! Bring layers, warm socks, long pants andsneakers(riding boots and/or helmet if you have them).

Helmetsare alsoavailable at the stable. Skirts are do-able as long as theyareflowingand worn with pants or leggings underneath.

TRANSPORTATION:BySubway,take the E train to 71st and Continental, then take Q23(orwalk) 10blocks to Metropolitan and Continental. 70th Road is 1blockfromMetropolitan, on a deadend road. It is the second stableacross from thehouses.  By Long Island Railroad, get off at theForestHillsstation and follow walking directions from subway.  Bycar, drivingdirections are available at http://www.forestequinecenter.com/directions.htm.
