Description
Join two urban historians, Nestor & Ira, for a walking tour of fascinating diverse western Queens. We will meet in the heart of Old Queens and proceed to the newly redeveloped Queens waterfront, where great views of the Manhattan skyline are provided (bring your camera). We will then continue to the historic Sunnyside Gardens & Phipps Gardens housing developments. After wards, our group will ride a vintage 1930s subway back to Manhattan. If there is interest, let's have dinner at a kosher/vegetarian/Indian restaurant.
Though this is moderately paced walk, we will be walking at least five miles in possibly cold weather.
$3 J.O.C. fee. Time & meeting place will be emailed the week before.
