Another weather friendly fall hike, around four hours, about seven miles…
A few guys, a few ponds, a few cows, a few goats, a rushing stream, a tranquil lunch, a tadpole, a few hicks, and Chief Wiggam, er I mean, the messiah in the person of the county sheriff who discovered the forgotten parking brake.
Note: If you haven’t already, inspect yourself for ticks. (A red ring with a black dot in the center resembling a bulls’ eye should be shown to a medical professional.)
Thank You Section
Thank you to:
-Yael Zand for organizing the awesome camp-out that brought us out to Fahnestock State Park, for feeding us, and for initiating the idea for a Sunday post-camping hike.
-Yair L. for co-leading the hike, both in the planning stage and n the trails.
-Steven H. for bringing and carrying a first aid kit and to G-d for not giving us reason to use it.
- Avi S. for coming when almost everybody else chickened out and for the entertaining stories.
I hope to see you again soon at other JOC events. Check the website for upcoming trips (including Yael’s upcoming Thanksgiving camp-out) and have a great winter.
See you on the trails!
Nachi
PS- Thank you all for hiking with me, for helping me, and for waiting with me (and then not killing me, beating me up, or even making fun of me).
