Description

[JOC] Outdoor Rope (Obstacle) Course & Paintball!! Sun, June 13, 2010 Organizer: Moshe Wolcowitz Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Details: If you like physical and psychological challenges and want to meet like-minded men and women (and shoot them!!), then join us on Sunday June 13th when we challenge ourselves on the famous Ring Homestead “Ropes Course & Paintballing". Ropes Obstacle Course (3 HOURS) The course has over 40 rope climbing and descending activities, both high and low, to challenge participants (check it out at www.ringhomesteadcamp.com). You are not required to do every activity if they freak you out. Some activities allow for the opportunity to climb trees and rappel from high wires. Upon arrival, the participants are divided into groups and are assigned a highly trained guide. Paintball: (1 HOUR) After the ropes obstacle course the JOC will head out to the fields for paintball. Great, SO WHAT IS PAINTBALL? Paintball is a fun friendly sport where a team tries to capture their opponents flag without getting splattered by a paintball. The balls are filled with a non-toxic water soluble, washable coloring. All the thrills you remember from when you were a kid playing games such as "HIDE & SEEK", "CAPTURE the FLAG" and "COPS & ROBBERS". It combines the best of these childhood games with a flare of strategy, the excitement of pursuit, the element of surprise, teamwork, cooperation and the feelings of accomplishment. There’s several games variation available including last man standing and/or capture the flag. We will play for one hour - just enough to give us a taste of the fun (players may stay later and pay for additional paintballs). Schedule: Driving Time: Approximately 1:20 hour drive from the GWB We will meet up at Ring Homestead in the parking lot at 12:00 noon to sign in. We hit the ropes at 12:30 sharp for about 3 hours of climbing, followed by another hour in the paintball field. We play until 4:30 so if you arrive late, you’ll end up missing out! At 4:30 we will all meet up for a quick snack before we head back home. We should be back in the city by around 6:30PM give or take. What does it cost? Regular Rate: ONLY $49 all inclusive for both the “Ropes Obstacle Course” and “Paintball”! Early Bird Rate: Take advantage of our early bird rate for ONLY $42 if you register and pay by May 31st Refund Policy: Cancellations will be granted for a 100% refund until Wednesday, June 2nd. Please note that beyond that, there will be absolutely no refund. Ride Share: We will organize car pooling details about a week prior to the event. You will have to reimburse your driver $18 (if you need a ride) for gas, toll, and wear & tear… The success of the JOC is dependent on our drivers. Please pay right away and don’t make them beg for it. Note: The paintball is included in the package rate. We can’t give discounts for anyone not interested in the paintball activities. If you don’t want to get involved with the heat of the battle, then feel free to use your bullets for target practicing. We have the field for one hour and 100 balls per person but the rental equipment is good for the duration of the day. If you need extra paintballs (optional) you can buy another 100 balls for 7 dollars, 500 balls for 20 dollars, and if you’re really trigger happy you can purchase an extra case of 2000 balls for 65 dollars. WHAT SHOULD I BRING? Bring comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty, lunch & snacks, cameras, and a fun attitude :) WHAT IF IT RAINS? You get wet. The fun is on even if it rains because the course is even more challenging when slippery. This is an outdoor game, you will also get dirty! How do I sign up? 1) Send $42 via www.paypal.com to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it (or $49 if you sign up after January 31st). 2) Follow this link and its instructions www.jocringhomestead.eventbrite.com DO NOT REGISTER UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE PAID Please note your registration is NOT complete until both of the above steps are completed.
