Description

Join MJE and JOC on our first-ever joint hike in nearby Harriman State Park (Orange County) to the Claudius Smith Cave on Sunday, November 13th.

This hike will be about 3-4 miles in length with some moderate ups-and-downs (okay for beginners in average/good shape), with an option to explore the small cave/rock shelter (good for more experienced hikers).  Nice late fall vistas will be seen from above the cave (where we'll have lunch) and several other locations.

We will meet at MJE, which is located on the 10th Floor of The Jewish Center (131 W. 86th Street), at 9am for their morning minyan and we will depart at 10am SHARP.

Your hosts for this hike are Marvin Baum, Jennifer Walk, Moshe Wolcowitz, Wendy Erdheim and Chaim Laufer.

Bring lunch, snacks, 2 liters of water, comfortable clothes (keep in mind that it will be colder in Harriman than in NYC, so "bring layers") and sturdy walking shoes.

Cost:  $3 JOC fee + $15 ride share for non-drivers, which covers gas, tolls, etc.

Moshe Wolcowitz of the JOC Board will be coordinating rides for everyone.  Although registration will be open until Wednesday night at 11:55pm, we ask that you sign-up as quickly as possible to ensure your spot.

Moshe will send out confirming emails to registered attendees on Thursday, November 10th.

We want to strongly encourage everyone to meet at MJE on the Upper West Side, but if you're not able to meet us in the city, please let Moshe know.

Registering does not confirm you for this event.  Moshe will send you an email to confirm your participation based on the availability of carpools.
