Event Recaps

The Spirit Of JOC E-mail

A Guide For Event Planners

  • Rich and Poor Alike: Events prices shall be kept low, so as to allow more people to experience the great outdoors, and not be “priced out”.

  • Respect the Inbox: General correspondence to the entire JOC email list about an event should be kept to a minimum number of emails. Follow up emails to attendees should be sent to attendees only, via a separate email list such as yahoogroups.

  • Be Nice: Responses to email inquiries should be courteous and prompt.

  • Be Accomodating: Events should be run with a sense of friendliness, openness, and sensitivity to the various ways that people appreciate the outdoors. Accommodations for Tefillot and other Halachik needs should be made, as needed.

  • Be a Good Host: Event organizers should do their best to introduce people wherever possible, and make sure that attendees are enjoying themselves.

  • Involve People: Participant involvement in all facets of the event, from planning, to setting up, to cleaning up, should be encouraged.
